Daydream by Polka!

Daydream is an incubator for founder-ambitious undergraduates, with the ambition to democratise wealth creation.

ANZ startup scene is incredibly nascent, especially at the undergraduate level:

The root cause lies at the university, where students are funnelled into ‘old-school’ jobs (Consulting/Banking/BigTech) (See Scorecards); all to learn habits of passive learning which need to be unlearned to be a successful founder or operator

PG, on building YCombinator:

There are thousands of smart people who could start companies and don’t, and with a relatively small amount of force applied at just the right place, we can spring on the world a stream of new startups that might otherwise not have existed

NB. The objective of Daydream is not to create another YCombinator imitation, but rather to provide undergraduates of the ANZ region, the small amount of force and the community-oriented support, that is required to allow the pursuit of startup ambition.

Building Blocks for Success:

1, Founder Ambition

Many more undergrads want to be founders than we give credit for, however, the founder journey is inherently lonely and disheartening. Without incredible momentum, working alone is often demoralising, especially in the face of continued failure.
